If you want to bring your dog along with you to root, root, root for the home team, you may be in luck. More and more stadiums across the country are hosting dog-friendly baseball games this year — here are 11 of them.
Tickets for these games, which usually must be ordered in advance, go quicker than a fast ball (the New York Mets’ two dog-friendly games on April 19 and May 11 are already sold out), so be sure to get yours ASAP.
To be allowed at most of these events, your dog must be leashed and licensed, and you need to bring proof and/or sign a waiver stating that his vaccinations are up to date. Usually only one dog is allowed per person.
The “Bark at the Park” games are being presented by a partnership of Nylabone, AvoDerm, Petco, the American Pet Products Association’s Pets Add Life (PAL) campaign and Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF). These events include a pre-game “pup rally,” where dogs will parade around the perimeter of the field, and proceeds benefit ARF and other rescue groups.
